Nice, France launched a bid to host the 2018 Winter Olympics. Yes, the same Nice that is located on the French Riviera wants to host the Winter Games. I'm not sure how this would have worked, but watch this WebSite for progress. Yes, it makes a lot of sense: nearby snow, great airport, lots of Winter hotel rooms. But it never happened.
