But why is this ring called the Bookworm? We often called people who seem to "devour" books "bookworms" after the tiny insect which literally makes its meal of book paper! Although filmmaker Werner Herzog was once obligated to eat his shoe, geophages habitually eat dirt (and do not die of it) and books have throughout history, alas, been burned, this ring manager has seen no record of any human, no matter how voracious a reader, maintaining a literal diet of literature.
