Somes Island Internment Camp for 'enemy aliens' - WWI
Somes Island, in Wellington Harbour, New Zealand, (now known as Matiu/Somes Island, ackowledging its Maori heritage) served as an internment camp for 'enemy alien' prisoners (mostly German) in both world wars.
