Just a wooden box - made out of acacia wood, the ARK OF THE COVENANT was used for transporting the two stone Tablets of the Law of the Torah of Moses from the Sinai to ISRAEL's Promised Land. Deposited some centuries later, in the Holy of Holies of the Temple of King Solomon in Jerusalem, this wooden box, and the 2 slabs of stone in it, were transformed into objects of religious worship. Both aspects, the physical and religious, are treated by the members of this webring.
