Ready for Round 2 of the WebRing Invitation Drive?
This time around, we're adding an extra challenge. For each new member you successully invite who also transfers their GeoCities site over to a free Webspace, you will earn double the Activity Points!

Why invite people with GeoCities sites? Yahoo! recently announced that they will close their free GeoCities service forever sometime this year. This will mean the end of a great many sites. With our new site transfer service, any new member can instantly and easily save their site.

Although not in danger of disappearing from the web, Angelfire, Tripod, and FortuneCity site transfers also earn double AP. Of course, general invitations will earn you AP and increase your chance to win the progressive jackpot, too.

Use Your Personal Invitation Page

Invitations from someone you know are generally better received than generic ones. That's why we've activated personal invitation landing pages.

Anytime you invite someone to join WebRing, they will be sent to your personal invitation page. On this page, you can supply a custom welcome message that directly addresses the people you've invited.

To customize your personal invitation page message, open the "Profile Settings" tab of your My Account page. On the page that opens, you'll find a text field to enter your custom message. Remember to click the "Apply Changes" button when you're done.

How to Invite Members

The invitation process is simple. You have two main options for sending invites:

The "Invite!" Link
At the top of every WebRing page, you will find a red link labeled "Invite!" Click that link to start the invitation process. Remember that you must be signed in to make sure you get credit for inviting new members.
Your Own Email Account
Possibly the best way to make sure your friends, family, colleagues and acquaintances get your invitation is to send your invites from an email they recognize. To ensure that you get credit for any sign-ups, simply attach this link in the email you send them:

Not into aggressively inviting new members? Try this passive form of invitation:

You can also send people to your personal landing page by adding links on your website, blog, or anywhere else you want.

Whichever method you choose, you will receive credit for any new sign ups who come through your personal landing page.

Make the Jackpot Grow!

As in May, we thought it would be fun to continue the progressive jackpot. The way it works is simple – the more new members who sign up, the greater the final amount of awarded Activity Points will be.

The pot starts at a generous 400 AP, and we will award a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner. As the pot grows, so will the number of winners with 4th, 5th, and 6th place winners incrementally added.

The overall winner will earn massive amounts of Activity Points!

Additionally, we plan to randomly select winners of weekly prizes. These prizes may be AP or something from the Rewards Room. You never know what you'll win!
