Wait, I Get Activity Points for Sending Traffic to WebRing?
Absolutely, yes! That navigation is a tool for building your community. You get traffic from WebRing and you send some back too, so why shouldn't you get paid for it? You earn credit for each unique user to WebRing in a 24 hour period. So, place your navigation code in the best locations(s) to earn the most (YES, you can put it on more than one page of your website even if you only register one page in a ring).
Is a Point Breakdown Available?
Sorry, but no. We are constantly adjusting point assignments to address the immediate needs of the overall WebRing system. Maintaining a point breakdown sheet would only set up false member expectations. We believe flexibility is most important when it comes to activity.
Why Aren't My Points Updated?
Activity Points update any time you click on the My Account link found at the top of every WebRing page, but no more than hourly to avoid unnecessary server load.
Why Do I Seem to Lose Activity Points?
You will only see a drop in activity points if you use them for something (auctions, featuring sites or rings, rewards room, 2.0 premium fees, etc).
What's the Activity Score used for?
The purpose of the Activity Score is twofold. First and foremost, high scores help us identify potential WebRing super-users. Secondly, you can redeem your Activity Points for items offered in our Rewards Room or to bid on items offered at Auction Central. Items range from a month of WebRing 2.0 membership to t-shirts, hats, mugs, and much more. Want to visit the Rewards Room?
Soon, you will also be able to use your Activity Points to pay for ring and contest promotions, for help from WebRing mentors in setting up your membership and webspace, and much more.
Ultimately, the activity score is intended to help recognize and reward those of you who make WebRing great!
