Sailing In The Solent - 11/13/2012

Sailing with Cap'n André L ast Saturday, I took the Can Opener down to the water's edge to do what we love best - sailing!  And not only that, but we were out training again with Cap'n André! It was a GREAT day. The slush grey clouds peeled away to reveal purest blue. Our hull whispered along in the oh so gentle breeze. We were tootling along the Solent, busting out our spinnakery-est moves when - imagine this: Cap'n André let slip that he's been holding out on us...  He had secretly been carrying a sail all along this season that we had never yet seen... the 140% genoa!  Well, I tell you. I nearly dropped my tin of Bastet's Best Smoked Gastropods. The 140% Genoa  How had we come to miss this thing of beauty? Some cruel truths just don't bear thinking about. Needless to say, I immediately ordered the Can Opener down into the forepeak depths to route it out.  Actually, by the time I had rounded up all the smo...
