When great-grandmother, Eliza Carnifix Faudree was but three years of age, her father died in the Civil War. . Her mother, Mary Susan Daugherty Carnefix  married a few years later to Jacob Elijah Wickline. Seldom have I seen mention of Jacob's first wife, however. Her name was Maria PILES . Here is the entry found typed in the Monroe County Marriage Indexes: The marriage is listed under section (2) 1842-1843, line 2. 2. Jacob Wickline to Maria Piles Married; Apr. 20, 1842, Bond # 4204 They had at least 4 children, and were married 29 years before Maria's death.
